School Resources

We have a variety of resources available to schools to help schools curate enlightening and inspiring shelves (in the classroom or the library). Our children’s book researchers collect and research new, exciting and informative titles, many of which would make incredible additions to your school’s collection.

Please see below what we can offer your school.

Author Events & Visits

Meeting an author can be a life changing experience for a child and inspire a lifelong love of reading. Our dedicated team is happy to organise school visits with authors for different age groups. We can also organise delivery of books for children attending, or for your library stock.

School Page

Our school page is personalised and tailored to your school, allowing parents to purchase books to donate to your school or simply donate funds for the school to use. If you would like to have parents choose to select titles rather than donate money the page can be created using books that the school has chosen. As the books are purchased, our booksellers will inform the school and arrange delivery of the books*.

Please see our example school page here.

*Free delivery is offered to all local schools in the St Albans area. We are able to supply books to a wider array of schools with delivery being arranged on a case by case basis.

School Visit

Our school visits are designed in mind for helping both teachers and/or parents on how to use our new Wishlist and to talk through any queries they may have. During these visits, we will be discussing which books we are recommending this month, why these books have been chosen and how to get the most from our bookshop. Our visit can be organised to be held at the school or in our shop premises in St Albans. We can also arrange to host local book fairs curated to a theme or age group.

School Wishlist

Our school wish list is a page where our children’s book researchers have taken the time to research and curate a collection of books they believe would make important additions to your bookshelves. To help with choosing the right book/s our booksellers and researchers have selected a range of titles for ages 4 to 18 years. You can view these titles on our wishlist page for parents & teachers below.

Our wishlist also contains our ‘Additional Reading’ page where you will find a selection of titles celebrating and supporting readers with additional reading needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, grief & bereavement, adoption, gender identity, mental health, LGBTQ+, and much more. This resource is useful for when making decisions on which books to acquire for your school or for parents choosing for their children.

If you would like to sign up for our newsletter where you can receive emails once a month to let you know new additions to our wish list, bestsellers from the last month, and books reviewed by our staff get in touch here. Our staff are also available via email or telephone to give you extra help with choosing the right books.
